Paddy Parboiling Plants System, Single stage parboil processing, Raw Paddy and soaked paddy (kachi -pakki) system for basmati paddy, Pressure parboiling for normal paddy, Parboiling for normal fine and superfine paddy without pressure, Less man power & electricity power consumption
Core Stages of the Parboiling Process
- Pre-Cleaning (Optional): Removes impurities like stones and dust to protect downstream machinery.
- Soaking / Pre-Hydration: Paddy is soaked in hot water to soften the husk and allow nutrient diffusion from the bran to the endosperm.
- Steaming (Gel Cooking): Uniform steam is applied to gelatinize the starch structure, enhancing hardness and translucency.
- Drying: Essential for moisture reduction (typically to ~14%) to facilitate milling and long-term storage. Fluidized bed dryers are common for efficient drying.
