When the mixed rice is fed into the rotating indented cylinder, the shorter broken grains fit into the small indents inside the cylinder, while the longer head rice remains outside and moves forward. As the cylinder rotates, the broken rice is lifted and dropped into a U-shaped trough. From there, it is discharged through a screw conveyor, ensuring proper and efficient separation.

The pre-cleaning process is used to remove extra-large impurities such as big stones, soil clods, hemp rope, straw, and other unwanted materials from the grain or raw paddy. This ensures cleaner input material for further processing and protects the milling equipment from damage.
